Presented by Lipstick On Your Collar Ltd
Fresh from their West End debut, Lipstick On Your Collar returns to the Kenton Theatre with a new show of toe tapping Rock ‘n’ Roll, following their sell out performance in 2017.
Step back in time to the golden era of music when the jukebox roared and feet didn’t touch the floor. Get your dancing shoes at the ready, grab yourself a milkshake and relax – you are in for an evening of back to back hits from the 1950s and 60s!
From the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll through to the Beat Group sounds of the British Invasion and beyond, the show is packed with over forty hits from the likes of Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Ronettes, Cliff Richard, Cilla Black and many more.
“Do you like good music?” Arthur Conley may have once asked, and if the answer is YES then you can’t afford to miss out on Lipstick on your Collar when they return to the Kenton in October. Last year they kicked off their UK tour at the Kenton and treated the full house to a fabulously entertaining and energetic set which was a tour of the music of the 50’s and 60’s.
The music and performance are set in front of a skillful video montage revealing stills and footage of the original stars and major events of the time. The band’s talents are showcased by an artistic lighting display which enhances their slick and powerful delivery.
Nikki’s exuberant performance is matched by her outstanding vocal repertoire: bubbly and bouncingly frivolous in tracks such as Stupid Cupid and Da Doo Ron Ron and then soaringly beautiful in her masterful Shirley Bassey and Tina Tuner covers. The boys all have their moments to shine both as a group delivering effortless harmonies and then as individual solos.
Bring your friends, dress up and prepare to dance the night away. You won’t be disappointed!
